The YAWBDB panel can be installed like an app. It then gets its own icon on your home screen or in your app list, and it opens in its own window, without the browser's address bar and tabs.
It is the same panel, with the same account and the same pages. Nothing extra is downloaded from a store.
📲 Where the button is
When your browser can install the panel, an Install App entry appears in your account menu, with a second line under it: Opens in its own window, without the address bar.
- On a computer: click your avatar (or your initials) at the top right. The entry is at the end of your account links, below Profile.
- On a phone: open the menu button (☰) at the top right and scroll down to your account links. The entry is at the end of them, below Profile.
You need to be signed in: the entry lives in the account menu.
The entry is only there when an install can actually happen. You will not see it:
- On a browser that does not offer it to web pages (see below).
- When the panel is already installed on this browser.
- When you are already in the installed app's window.
🤖 Chrome on Android
- Open the panel in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap the menu button (☰) at the top right.
- Tap Install App.
- Chrome shows its own install dialog. Confirm it.
The YAWBDB icon is added to your phone. Open it from there and the panel starts full screen, without Chrome's address bar.
💻 Chrome on a computer
- Open the panel in Chrome and sign in.
- Click your avatar at the top right.
- Click Install App.
- Chrome shows its own install dialog. Click Install.
The panel opens in its own window, and Chrome adds it to your apps like any installed program.
Microsoft Edge works the same way: it hands the page the same offer, so the same entry appears.
🍏 Safari on iPhone and iPad
Safari does not let a web page offer an install, so the Install App entry never appears there. That is expected, not a fault.
Safari has its own way of doing it:
- Open the panel in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
The icon on your home screen opens the panel in its own window, without Safari's address bar.
Firefox does not offer the install to web pages either, so the entry does not appear there.
🔁 If you said no
The browser's dialog can only be shown once per visit. Whatever you answer, the entry leaves the menu for the rest of that visit.
- If you accepted, the panel is installed and the entry stays gone.
- If you declined, nothing changed. The entry can come back on a later visit, when your browser offers the install again. When it does is the browser's decision, not the panel's.
Chrome on Android no longer shows its own install banner on the panel either: the account menu entry replaces it, so the offer never pops up on its own.
📶 It still needs the internet
The installed app is not an offline app. Every page, and everything on it about your servers, comes from YAWBDB when you open it, exactly as in the browser.
What it keeps on your device is only the panel's own building blocks: scripts, styles and fonts. They load faster the next time, and survive a weak connection. Your pages and your data are never stored, so a shared device never shows the previous person's screen.
🗑️ Removing it
Remove it like any other app on your device. On Android, press and hold the icon and choose to uninstall it. On a computer, open the installed app's window menu and choose to uninstall it. On an iPhone, press and hold the icon and remove it.
Your account and your servers are not affected: the panel is still there in the browser.
