Counters

Counters turn boring voice channels into live server stats. The bot automatically renames a voice channel to show a number that updates on its own (member count, boosts, online members, and more) right at the top of your channel list.

📊 What you can show

Each counter shows one stat:

• Total members, humans, bots
• Online members
• Boosts and boost level
• Members with a specific role
• Text channels, voice channels, categories
• Bans
• Boosters (members boosting the server)

⚙️ Setting one up

From your server → Counters:

1. Pick a type from the list above.
2. Choose the channel:
   • Use an existing voice channel, or
   • Create one: the bot makes a locked voice channel that members can't join (it's display-only).
3. Set a name template with {count} for the value - for example 👥 Members: {count} or 🚀 Boosts: {count}. For the boost level, use {level} (e.g. ⭐ Level {level}). The template is pre-filled with a suggestion for the type you pick, and can be up to 100 characters. Numbers are written with thousands separators (e.g. 1,250).
4. For a Members with a role counter, also pick the role to count.

That's it - the bot keeps the channel name up to date, and renames the channel right away when you add or edit a counter. Each counter in the list can be switched on or off or removed at any time; removing a counter does not delete the channel.

⏱️ How often it updates

Names refresh about every 10 minutes. This isn't a setting: Discord limits how often a channel can be renamed (twice per 10 minutes), so the bot stays safely within that and only renames when the number actually changes.

If the bot cannot work out a number - Discord did not answer, a permission was taken away, the counted role was deleted - the channel keeps its last name instead of dropping to 0. A real zero (no boost on the server, nobody online at 4am) is still shown.

✅ Requirements

• The Counters feature must be enabled on your server: if it is switched off, the bot stops renaming the channels.
• The bot needs the Manage Channels permission, and can only rename channels it is allowed to manage.
• The Online members counter counts the members whose status is not offline. The bot reads that from the presences Discord sends it; it keeps no one's status, only the total.

🔔 Server Logs

The bot renames counter channels all the time, so these renames are hidden from Server Logs by default. To log them anyway, turn on "Log counter channel renames" under More settings in your server's Server Logs page.

💡 Tips

• Counters work best grouped at the top of your channel list in their own category.
• The locked channels created by the bot are perfect for stats; nobody can join them, they just display the number.
• A member-with-role counter is great for showing how many people have a key role (e.g. 🎫 Subscribers: {count}).
