Teams - create, invite, leave and delete

A team is the group of people who run your Discord servers together on the panel. This page shows how to create one, bring people in, leave one, and delete one. For what each person is allowed to do once inside, see Team roles and permissions.

🏠 You already have a team

When you create your account, YAWBDB creates a personal team for you, named after your first name ("Ava's Team"). The servers you connect land in the team that is current when you connect them.

You can belong to several teams. The panel shows the servers of one team at a time, the current one.

➕ Create another team

  1. Open the account menu at the top right.
  2. Click Create New Team.
  3. Type a Team Name and click Create Team.

You become the team's owner and the panel switches to it straight away. Use a separate team when a different group of people should manage a different set of servers.

🔀 Switch between teams

Account menu → Switch Teams → click the team. The dashboard and every server page then show that team's servers.

📨 Invite someone

Only the team owner can invite people.

  1. Account menu → Team Settings.
  2. In Team Members, find Add Team Member.
  3. Type the person's Email, pick a Role, and click Add.
  4. They receive an email with an invitation link. Until they accept, the invitation is listed under pending invitations with a Cancel button.

⚠️ What the person you invite must do first

The invitation only works for someone who already has a panel account with that exact email address.

  1. They register on the panel with the same address you typed (or already have an account with it).
  2. They confirm their email address, as any new account is asked to.
  3. They are signed in, then they click the link in your email.
  4. They land on their dashboard with a banner saying they joined your team. The team they join is the one tied to the address you invited.

The link adds the account registered with the invited address, whichever account is signed in when the link is clicked. If no account uses that address yet, it fails with "We were unable to find a registered user with this email address." Ask the person to register with that address, then to click the link again.

The invitation link does not expire. Cancel any invitation you no longer want from the pending list.

🚪 Leave a team

  1. Account menu → Switch Teams → choose the team you want to leave.
  2. Account menu → Team Settings.
  3. In Team Members, click Leave next to your own name, then confirm.

You lose access to that team's servers immediately. The team keeps its servers and its settings.

The owner cannot leave. Trying shows "You may not leave a team that you created." An owner either keeps the team or deletes it (see below).

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Remove someone

The owner opens Team Settings → Team Members, clicks Remove next to the person, and confirms. They lose access straight away. Nothing they configured is undone.

To flag an inappropriate profile photo, click Report photo next to the member in the same list - see Your profile photo.

🗑️ Delete a team

Only the owner can delete a team, and a personal team has no delete button.

  1. Switch to the team, then account menu → Team Settings.
  2. Scroll to Delete Team, click it and confirm.

Deleting a team deletes its servers and every setting on them. All members lose access at once. There is no undo. Remove the bot from Discord separately if you want it gone from the Discord side.

The same applies when you delete your account: every team you own is deleted with it, including servers other people were using.

💡 Example

You run "Night Shift HQ" and want your friend Sam to moderate it.

  1. Sam registers on the panel with sam@example.com and confirms the email.
  2. You: account menu → Team Settings → Add Team Member, type sam@example.com, pick the Moderator role, click Add.
  3. Sam opens your email, clicks the link while signed in, and sees "Great! You have accepted the invitation to join the Night Shift HQ team."
  4. Sam switches to your team with Switch Teams and finds the Moderation pages.

🔧 When something goes wrong

🚨 "This user has already been invited to the team"

An invitation to that address is already pending. Cancel it from the pending list and send a new one, or ask them to use the link already in their inbox.

🚨 "We were unable to find a registered user with this email address"

No account uses that address, or it is spelled differently on the person's account. Check which address they registered with, cancel the pending invitation, and invite that one.

🚨 The person says the link does nothing, or asks them to sign in again

The link needs a signed-in, email-confirmed account. Have them sign in (or confirm their email), then click the link in your email again.

🚨 The role I want is not in the list

Roles come from the team's own role list. Create or edit one under Team Settings → Roles (see Team roles and permissions).

🚨 I am an administrator but I do not see "Add Team Member"

Inviting, removing people and deleting a team are for the owner only. A role can carry other permissions, but not these.

🚨 I cannot leave my own team

You are its owner. Delete the team, or keep it.

🚨 I deleted the wrong team

It cannot be restored. Create a team and connect the servers again.
